Voices – Heroine (c92)

The third and final release from the best Neanderthal-psych avant-stoner band in Oakland (or the worst drunken children’s choir in the western hemisphere), Heroine is the magnum opus of one the loudest, dreamiest, and lesser known bands from the bay area no-audience underground. Canyon crumbling polyrhythmic drums punctuate bulbous and charred guttural bass lines as lightning-tongued thunder gods snap sparks of clandestine poetry against the revolution of the clock and pedantry love rituals. Percussive mortars against the ego fade into celebratory incantations; a bell tolls the passing of electrified flux cascading tactile memes over the waterfalls of the mind. As the oceans of purple-gold angels recedes back into the navel of the cosmos a declaration is writ in oscillating aluminum affect and a meteor shower signals the return to an ancient apprehension of equilibrium coursing from body to soil. As a 92 minute shamanic journey for the ears, this tape may be the missing link to comprehending the structured entropy of the mind in relation.
